Built to run, and to be watched
The systems behind our quoting: an engine, the controls around it, and the operations that keep both accountable. Capability only — no implementation detail.
StBernard — the market-making engine
StBernard is Abbey Quant's first programmatic market-making engine and the system through which our quoting, position management and execution are carried out. It is built to keep liquidity present, systematically and within the limits set for it, and it operates within the seafood ecosystem (0xseafood.com). Its design favours consistency and control over cleverness.
Monitoring & risk controls
The engine is watched continuously. Position, exposure and system health are observed as they develop, with controls that can constrain or stop activity when defined conditions are approached. Alerts reach people who can act on them, and the same signals are retained afterwards so that behaviour can be reviewed rather than recalled.
Automation & operations
Routine operations — deployment, reconciliation, reporting and incident handling — are automated wherever it is safe to do so, so that the team's attention stays on oversight and judgement. The intent is repeatable operation with clear ownership and an auditable record, whether the day is ordinary or not.
